I can tell that people are confused about what “freedom of speech” means here in the US

Freedom of speech means no one will ARREST you or make it illegal for you to spew whatever vile word vomit you want to subject the rest of us to.

Freedom of speech does not mean that you’re immune from other people using their same right to free speech to call you out for being a bigot.

Freedom of speech means that you have the freedom to say whatever hateful things you want, but it also means that once you’ve said those hateful things, you’re fucking on your own.

It means you alone are responsible for the things you choose to say. Not the opposite.
