Why should we care about women’s representation in video games?”
Nobody is going to want a female protagonist!
Their target audience isn’t big enough to warrant any games!”
Women aren’t as capable as men, they don’t belong in video games!”
If more women starting playing video games, maybe then they’d have a say in the matter!”
I’ve posted/reblogged things about it before, but the way this show took the usual magical girl “young girls’ coming of age” theme and brought it up to the rarely-explored theme of “young girls realizing the world is a shitty sexist place geared utterly against their fight for it” is amazing and perfect and I cried a lot when I watched it
Can we just recognize (as beautiful the words that Andrea Gibson writes are) that this is quotation of a black revolutionary (Malcolm X) and what it means when it’s attributed/connected/linked instead to a white person?
“Don’t worry, Sayaka. It sucks to be alone…It’s okay. I’ll be beside you, Sayaka.”#sees kyouko get on her knes and pray #remembers that sayaka made her believe in heroes and goodness again #falls down and wails #i’ll never recover -applesarefuckinghealthy
