Being black was the best choice I ever made!
Isn’t it weird how it’s okay for black people to say this but as soon as I say “being white was the best choice I ever made” it’s racist?
Isn’t it weird how black people and white people aren’t equal in this society, so any equations you try to make are inherently skewed? Isn’t it weird how racism is a system of power, all of which lies with white people? Isn’t it weird how anytime subjugated groups try to (parodically or otherwise) take pride in actually, you know, having a culture after centuries of marginalization and atrocity, white people have to (simply cannot go without, couldn’t live without doing so) insert themselves in some hypothetical, bullshit way that shows their paltry understanding of peripheralization and race and oppression?
Really weird to me.

hollywood sure has an easy time finding brown and black people to play terrorists, thugs, drug dealers, gangsters, servants, “barbarians”, hypersexualized or desexualized caricatures but all of a sudden you need a lead role and
gosh where did they go i swear we put them here right after zero dark thirty??
friendly reminder that no one has to like children, no one has to want children, no one has to think children (not even your children!) are special, no one is obligated to reproduce, and disliking children does not make you a violent sociopath

I thought it was funny until I realized the cat doesn’t run away but it rolls away xD now it’s fucking hilarious

then why is it that women writers rarely feel compelled to torture their female characters in this way?
